Structure to your training

This is something I have always felt is essential for my personal progress. I am a very laid back relaxed guy and when it comes to every day life I’ve always been someone to take each day as it comes and not plan too much into the future, with my training it couldn’t be more opposite. I have a very solid structure to my training with regards to what days I train and what stuff I do on each day, it often feels like the only way I remember which day of the week it is. I know life is not always simple and work and other real life stuff gets in the way but try to have as much routine with your training as possible. I personally find to keep making progress I need to be following a very regimented programme. I think every successful strongman I’ve ever met has one very common thing and that is their complete OCD when it comes to their training. All lifting sports are the same way in my opinion.

I guess the point of this blog is to try make people realise you will not get maximum results by going in the gym with no plan and just pissing around. If you’re not capable of writing your own programme there’s plenty of good ones out there or if you’re willing to stump up the cash get yourself a programme from someone with proven track record.
